Tree Hazards caused by Snow and Ice
Superior Arbor Management, Inc. • February 10, 2020
Snow and ice can wreck havoc on your trees. Here's what to look for.
Winter weather may cause a "snow day" home from work, but what most people don't think about is the impact it has on their trees. Snow and ice can cause structural damage or weakening of trees' branches and root zones, leading to fallen branches and uprooted trees. With our recent winter weather event in North Georgia, it is especially important to keep an eye on your trees and protect the safety of your property. Please call us if you notice the following:
- Cracks in the trunk
- Disturbed soil by the roots
- Tightened or elevated roots
- Leaning branches
- Leaning tree trunks
Ultimately, we want to help you AVOID damages to the following:
- Bystanders (loved ones, employees, customers)
- Houses, offices, windows, decks, porches, garages, and sheds
- Cars, trucks, campers, or other vehicles
- Power lines, electrical cables, and other utility lines
- Landscape structures
Don't let this happen to you. If you have ANY concerns about the structural integrity of your trees, please call our office at (770) 294-1012 or email us through our
Contact Page. We look forward to helping keep you, and what you value most, safe!
